I think I'm going to get one in Piura because the weight situations with our flight there. It should be around 80 soles or less, but i don´t know because i haven´t seen anything electronic for sale here yet haha. I got an email from jeff law and he said that John Mayer came out with a new CD, you´ll have to check it out. So i got like 12 or 13 emails on thanksgiving and replied back to all of them but i don´t think anybody got them because i haven´t gotten an email back from anybody, even mack. So i guess if anybody asks about tell ‘em I’m sorry about that because i don’t know what’s going with the whole email thing.

Where did you send the christmas package to? The MTC here, mission home or somewhere else? Today on the way back from the temple I used about 30 or 40 dollars on my card just incase your wondering.

My new companion is Elder André Barney, he’s from Thatcher Arizona and he´s my favorite so far. He’s 1/4 mexican but you would never know haha. Everybody that reads his name tag laughs at him and starts singing the theme song to Barney. I think its pretty popular down here because today at lunch all the latinos broke out into the theme song. I like being with him because his spanish is really good and we´re around the same level. My last comp was to serious and this one is pretty laid back which i love.

Thats crazy about TCU and B-State, hopefully this will be the straw that broke the camel´s back. You´ll have to tell me when Jeff and Tyler get there calls, where and when they go. When does Nate Peck leave? Bummed i couldn´t make the funeral but it is what it is. I´m glad things went well. How's Grandpa doing?

Things are going better here but still could improve if you know what i mean. My spanish is going alright, its been frustrating because i feel like i´ve peaked and can´t learn anymore right now. I´m starting to get real frustrated when we teach because i feel like I'm the same as i was 4 week ago. I only have 2 weeks left here and want to be ready for the field. I don´t want to fall flat on my face when i get out there but hopefully I'm doing it here right now so i won´t have to when i get out there. I just can´t help feeling frustrated with the language. Only half the old group of norte americanos got latino comps and supposedly they were the ones that were struggling with the language but now they´ve all surpassed us. We´re basically segregated from them, we don´t have them as comps, in our classes, breakfast, lunch, dinner or during our P.E. time. We only see them for about a hour before we go to bed.

Last night we had Elder Nash speak to us with his wife, he's the one that is friends with president Top, so i talked to him afterwards and he told me to tell you to tell president Top his love haha. Tell bishop Wright that I’ll be writing him a letter when I have something to write about.

Tell the priests i say hi and to get ready for the missions and go to mission prep. Tell grandpa i say hi too. I sent home a couple memory cards today so i sure hope you get them because they have all my pictures on them. How´s Tim doing? I am always wondering how things are going for him. Anything about nate or christina too?

I don´t know why but just as i was about to log off i got your email, mom. My email is so screwed up haha. It sounds like the funeral went well. Wish i could´ve been there but i´m here so yeah... It was a good thing for grandma and hopefully for grandpa too. It didn´t really hit me she was gone until a couple days after i found out she died. Its been difficult to deal with because i´ve never really known someone that´s died before. But this was probably a good thing when i stop to think about it. That would´ve been cool to see all the family especially Angela. If you airmail them they should get here before i leave but you need to do it soon. Thanks for the update on tim, i´ve been worried about him. Hopefully things look up for him, he´s been someone that i have thought about and related to lately. I don´t feel like I’m the only one thats struggling and that if he’s found light at the end of the tunnel I will too. Thanks for emailing me and helping push through this, Hope I can make you proud.

Hey!

Once again I don’t have much time to write but I’ll tell the important things. Last Saturday I went out on the streets again, one guy committed to coming to church just because he wanted to speak english with me at church the next day. We taught a couple lessons, one was with two deaf ladies, who couldn’t see very well and had to share the same pair of glasses, and switch every time we read them something. Then we met an old couple, the old man was in a wheel chair with a catheter from you know where, running to a bag on the floor which had leaked all the pee, then he gave at least a 7 min prayer, that lesson was frustrating. Then we walked out the door and some guy across the street yelled elders and wanted us to come over. We went over and he started yelling at us, saying we had no right to be here and that god was dead. It was really hard, not because what he was saying was true but it was really degrading after a frustrating day. Thanks for talking to me last night. I’m going to turn things around and man up or cowboy up as dad says, lol. Thanks for the support and look forward to your emails.

Hay, just got back from our tour of down town Lima it was awesome. Got some really good pictures and videos of the places of where the spanish inquisition happened, where the Gov. is a creepy catholic cathedral. The best part is when we went to pizza hut, we all ate a ton of pizza and its considered fine dinning here, we had waiters, fancy plates and were offered wine haha. I got a couple of cool peruvian things like a soccer jersey, backpack and beanie for about 20 us dollars. Today was the best day yet, really stress free and fun, we get to stay up tonight and wait for the new latinos to come in. I got a new comp. who’s name is elder barney, he’s from thatcher arizona and is really chill and probably the type of companion i need right now. my last one was a good worker and missionary but to serious and cared more about his spanish than the people he was teaching and especially me. All the americans that are getting latinos are getting them cause their spanish sucks, so i guess thats a good thing right? haha well I’m going go play futbol. Life’s good, thanks for writing me and I’ll have things turned around in no time.

I’m doing good today we just got back from a big service project down by the ocean for a mental hospital today. It was an interesting experience to say the least. We're lucky to have the health care we have back home, none of the rooms had windows and no medical equipment and the nurses white slippers were all stained with blood. We were hacking away some vines with machetes when the nurses started asking about us and next thing we know we we´re teaching the 1st lesson to them and placed 3 books of mormon. I didn´t really do much because the elders from guatemala took care of business but it was awesome to see real work being done. We got to go the ocean afterwards and get some mexi-cokes. Last saturday we went out street contacting and giving lessons to less active members. I had a good experience when the very first time when i testified of the book of mormon and was able to feel the spirit but the next one i wasn´t really paying good attention and was put on the spot to testify so I testified of the b.o.m. again and was freaking embarrassed to find out they were talking about tithing. Then to finish off the day I placed a book of mormon at a bus stop and helped teach the 1st lesson. It was really good for me to go out and talk with real people. Which helped put my head in the right place, which is here not home and the importance of sharing the gospel and bulking up and learning spanish.

Thanks so much for talking to me the other night. You really helped me the through one of the lowest lows in my life, the past couple of days were hard, but things are starting to look up its not so bad anymore and I'm starting to find some small good things in my day and the foods not so bad anymore but sleeping is still hard at night. I'm sorry I couldn't email you yesterday they wanted us to do it today on thanksgiving but we should be back the usual schedule next week. Thanks for the updates on Tim, email him and ask if he's gotten any of my letters or if he can email me please haha. Thanks again for the support. Have a great thanksgiving!
